A Young Girl, 12, Killed After Snow Fort Collapses in Illinois

A young girl of age 12 Illinois was killed and another girl, 9, was injured after the snow fort they built collapsed on them. The 9-year-old is recovering from hypothermia.

The girls were attending services at a church in Arlington Heights, Chicago, with their families on Sunday, January 20.

The Arlington Heights Police Department told media that, the girls eventually decided to play outside after which the tragic incident occurred.

When the children had not gone inside the church for an hour, their family members started searching for them. The family found them underneath the snow.

The girls were rushed to a hospital. The 12-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital while doctors found the 9-year-old was suffering from hypothermia. She was being treated.

No foul play was suspected in the incident. Police say it "appears to be a tragic accident."

The accident comes just one day after multiple sources reported that an inoperable brain tumor of an 11-year-old Texas girl, Roxli Doss, unbelievably vanished. Doctors said they don’t know how that happened.
