A newborn baby was found dead in a trashcan of a toilet at an Amazon distribution center in Phoenix, authorities confirmed on Wednesday, January 16.
Phoenix police reportedly responded to a call about a dead baby in the women’s bathroom at approx. 8:30 p.m. local time. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found the newborn was beyond resuscitation, police said.

In a statement to KTVK-TV of Phoenix, Amazon said, "This is a terribly sad and tragic incident", adding, "The safety and wellness of our team is our top priority."
Amazon then said they "are working with local authorities to support their investigation".
According to the KNXV-TV report, the warehouse, which is located in West Phoenix, continued its operations while police officers investigated the case.
