An 11-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl were among those brutally murdered in a tragic incident that a police officer has called "savagery."
According to police, the two young children were among four found dead in upstate New York in what is probably the case of a quadruple homicide.
Victims of Troy quadruple homicide
The other two victims were adults, ages 22 and 36, both of whom were females. All of them were found in a basement on Tuesday afternoon in Troy, New York.
Police have also said that all the victims appeared to be living in the apartment which lies about 8 miles outside of Albany. They further revealed that the women were in a relationship, while the girl and the boy were the children of one of the women.
Troy Police Chief John Tedesco said in a press conference that this might not be a random act of violence but rather a premeditated one. He also urged anyone with information to contact the police.
"If you know anything at all even if you think it’s insignificant ... please call us," he said.
With autopsies underway, police are yet to release the cause of their death.
