The 88-year-old beauty and former actress Virginia Cathryn Rowlands, known as Gena Rowlands and John Nicolas Cassavetes were together up until Nicolas death. Gena and John were one of the best couples known to the film industry in the late 80’s and their split was one of the saddest love incidents that could happen. Despite normal fans speculation that their relationship ended in a divorce, the actual fact behind their split is that the couple was separated due to John’s death.

The legendary actress Gena Rowlands is an actress whose acting stints have spanned over the time of six decades. She is a four-time Emmy Award and a two-time Golden Globe Award winner who has been known for her collaborations with her husband on several films. She had been actively involved in the acting fraternity since 1954 and had appeared in a huge number of hit films of the era.

John Cassavetes died at the age of 59 due to Cirrhosis of the Liver. Late John is known for his acting in films like Dirty Dozen and Rosemary’s Baby as well as for his production and direction. Gena and John got married on the 9th of April, 1954. The love of the couple started growing up after they met at the American Academy at Carnegie Hall as students. Gena welcomed three children Nick, Alexandra, and Joe with John, who are all actors and are successful in their endeavors.

The relationship of the couple came to an abrupt end, not because they separated due to marital problems, but because of the death of John at the age of 59. The sad story of the pair will be remembered for a long time to come.
