81-Year-Old Male Dies In Torrance, California, In A Hit-And-Run Accident

An 81-year-old male died on a Monday night, as a result, of a hit-and-run accident in Torrance, California.

Torrance Police Officials immediately responded to reports of traffic clash at about 8:40 p.m. concerning a vehicle and a pedestrian at the junction of Mariner Avenue and Del Amo Boulevard.

According to the officials, the victim was crossing the street inside of the crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle traveling east despite a green light.

After striking the 81-year-old male, the driver fled the scene.

The car in suspect is a blue or grey Honda four-door sedan whose front end is damaged.

The pedestrian was attended by medical officers from Torrance Fire Department but had sustained major injuries which ultimately led his death.

The identity of the victim hasn't been revealed until his family members are informed.

The junction of Mariner Avenue and Del Amo Boulevard was temporarily sealed while authorities investigated.
