70-years-old Woman Dies after Falling from the Grand Canyon

Woman, 70, fell to her death at the Grand Canyon National Park, which is now reported to be the second fatal incident of this type this year.

Park rangers found the old woman’s body about 200 feet down the Grand Canyon’s South Rim on Tuesday, 22nd April 2019.

The body was recovered by the ranger’s helicopter and rescue team.

Park officials reported it is the 2nd death in 2019 of someone tumbling from over the edge at the national park.

Prior to this, the body of a 67-year-old male was retrieved after he fell from the South Rim on April 3rd.

A man visiting the Hualapai reservation also died on March 28 while trying to take a photo, but this accident was outside the park’s perimeter.

Vanessa Ceja, the Grand Canyon National Park spokeswoman, informed that Tuesday’s incident was the 5th death inside the park in 2019.

In 2018, 17 people lost their lives inside Grand Canyon National Park, as reported by NBC News.
