7 People Found Dead in Tennessee Home: Suspect Arrested

Seven people were found dead at two homes in rural Tennessee authorities confirmed Sunday, April 28. Six of the bodies were found in one location.

According to TBI (Tennessee Bureau of Investigation), the bodies were discovered after investigators continue to search two homes in Westmoreland where the murders unfolded.

The suspect of the murders, identified as Michael Cummins, 25, was shot and arrested on Saturday, April 27, after an hours-long manhunt, officials said.

The suspect was then taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries for treatment and then was arrested.

Investigators told media on Saturday that police officers responded to a 911 call about four dead people in one home and the fifth body in another home.

Two more bodies were reportedly found in the first house on Sunday, April 28. Authorities are trying to identify the victims.

According to a The Tennessean newspaper report, a 12-year-old girl was among the victims. The newspaper further writes that many of the dead were relatives of the suspect.

One person who was injured is in critical condition and being treated.
