A Man Died in Police Shooting at Hawaii State Capitol

A man died after getting shot at the Hawaii state capitol after a violent altercation with a police officer on Monday, February 18.

The authorities said the man, who was in his 20s, was shot following a confrontation with the law enforcement official.

The exact reason what prompted the incident is still not clear and it's been under investigation. The name and identification of the victim have also not been disclosed.

As per Hawaii News Now, the man choked a sheriff’s deputy, prompting him to open the fire. The man was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

As per the report, another man on the scene was also rushed to the hospital and he is in a stable condition.

The entire state capitol rotunda has been cordoned off following the shooting. Additional details about the incident will be provided soon by the authorities.
