“Last Kiss” Soul Singer Wayne Cochran Died of Cancer At Age 78
Wayne was a flashy performer who was known for his capes and rhinestone-studded outfits before Elvis Presley did the same. His band the C.C. Riders featured a young bass guitarist Jaco Pastorius. He walked away from music in the 1970s and became a preacher.
Wayne had been known for his barn-storming performances and wore a towering blonde pompadour quiff throughout his musical career. But at the height of his fame, the legendary musician packed it all in to become a church minister in Miami.
