Katy and Taylor, of course, have had some ups and downs between them. The former friends experienced tiff in their friendship following a conflict with their backup dancers.

In a 2014 interview with Rolling Stone, Taylor claimed,

She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me,

However, she didn't specify who she was referring to at the time.

Three years later, Katy, as per the report, told James Corden that Taylor “started” the feud and it was time to “finish it.”

In May 2017, Katy said,

I tried to talk to her about it and she wouldn’t speak to me. I do the right thing any time that it feels like a fumble. It was a full shutdown and then she writes a song about me, and I’m like, ‘OK, cool, cool, cool. That’s how you want to deal with it? Karma!
