Phoebe Cates is an American film actress, singer and former model, well-known for portraying in the movie, Fast Times at Ridgemont High in 1980. She was born in television and Broadway production insiders family to Lily and Joseph Cates. She grew up along with her siblings in New York City. Cates attended Hewitt School, the Professional Children's School, and the Juilliard School through which she completed her high school graduation. She was interested in dancing since her childhood and also wanted to pursue her career in dancing but after suffering a serious knee injury she gave up the dancing career.
