Matilda's Embeth Davidtz proud to star in Rockstar North's upcoming action video game - Agent
Agent is an upcoming stealth action video game. It is being developed by Rockstar North, the primary developer of the Grand Theft Auto series. It was early on in 2007 that Sony announced Rockstar was working on a new exclusive game for the PlayStation 3. But the details of the project, including its title, were not announced until June 2009 during the Sony press conference at Electronic Entertainment Expo.
According to a Rockstar press release, the game is set during the Cold War and will take players into "the world of counter-intelligence, espionage and political assassinations". Rockstar has yet to reveal any details regarding the setting other than that it will be set in the late 1970s.
But to the much-awaited pleasure of fans, the developers have confirmed that 90’s heartthrob Matilda’s Embeth Davidtz is all set to star in the video games as Penny Moffat. And this news couldn’t have been any less than a moment of pride for both the actress and her followings.
Davidtz had played the character of Miss Honey in the 90’s hit movie Matilda. She, in the movie, was incredibly intelligent (and pretty). She even managed to survive under the rule of Trunchbull, the antagonist headmistress, and give Matilda the protection and the home she needed in a school full of horror and bullies. The empathetic and devoted teacher was essentially a saint for all little girls who just didn't fit in.
Apart from Miss Honey, Davidtz played Mary Parker in 2012 and 2014 'The Amazing Spider-Man' and was a recurring character on 'Mad Men.' She was also in the Harrison Ford thriller 'Paranoia.'
Embeth Davidtz’s breakout role into serious cinema was in the movie Schindler’s List.
50-years of age, Davidtz is extremely talented and has played prominent roles in more than 40 movies including Junebug, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and TV shows Californication and The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe.
She was born in Indiana to South African parents and that's probably why she has that alluring accent. She earned an English degree at Rhodes University. Davidtz married entertainment attorney Jason Sloane on June 22, 2002, and has two children, Charlotte Emily (born 2002) and Asher Dylan Sloane (born in 2005). Her affair with the Hollywood lawyer has been a private one. She is not very active on social networking sites. But her popularity was such that her fans made a fansite of her name so as to share updates on their beloved actress’s life. Her net worth is estimated to be around $5 million.
