He has also established himself as a costume designer, actor and television personality. Five feet and nine inches tall, Karan Johar was born as Karan Dharma Kama Johar in the early 1970s in Mumbai, India to Hiroo Johar and Yash Johar. His father Yash Johar is also a film producer. Yash Chopra was his maternal uncle.
