John Vause Biography
John Vause is well-known Journalist, hails from Australia and works for CNN International as a journalist. He has also served as a Los Angeles Bureau chief of the Seven Network in Australia. Before that, he was working as a senior reporter for the network in Jerusalem. He was born on August 22, 1968, in Townsville, Queensland, Australia to father Warren Vause, and mother, Jan Vause. He attended the Brisbane Boys College in Brisbane. He also studied at the Queensland University. Later he started studying law at JCU which was not completed.
John as a journalist has traveled all over the world in search of true stories. While he was in Beijing he reported the assassination of Benazir Bhutto in Pakistan. Similarly, when he was Beijing correspondent, he reported China and the region. Some popular CNN reporters are, Nima Elbagir, Michael Holmes, and Katty Kay.
Before Beijing, John has served as the network's senior reporter in Jerusalem. During this, he was part of the team which won an Edward R Murrow award for CNN's coverage of the Israel-Hezbollah war. He also reported the rise of Hamas, the death of Yasser Arafat, the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and the siege at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem.
John also presented the sustained suicide bombing campaign by Palestinian militants during 2002. After a couple of years, his interview with a suicide bomber won him a New York Festival award.
As a reporter, John reported the coverage of the Iraq War from Kuwait. Then after he moved to Jerusalem to cover the Aqaba Summit, which outlined the US vision for a Palestinian State and Road Map to peace. In 2007, he went to Indonesia, where he visited State Elementary School Menteng 01.
In November 2015, he was criticized for an interview of Yasser Louati, spokesperson for Collective Against Islamophobia in France, in which he implied that the Muslim community should take responsibility for terrorist attacks committed by their fellow brothers.
