Gemma Louise Ward (born 3 November 1987) is an Australian model and an actress. Gemma was born in Perth, Western Australia to Gary Ward, an Australian doctor, and Claire, an English nurse. She has one older sister, Sophie, and younger twin brothers, Oscar and Henry. She attended Presbyterian Ladies' College and Shenton College. She was the family clown whose ambition was acting and her passion for acting was born in 1997 when she played as the witch in a school play of Hansel and Gretel at age ten.

In 2008, Ward started dating actor Heath Ledger. At the end of 2007, they were also found together celebrating their holidays. They first met each other in November 2007 in New York when she was just turned 20. But it took three years for the conformation that they are seeing each other. In 2011, in an interview for The Sunday Telegraph, she confirmed that they had "developed a relationship and we started seeing each other."  Later in 2013, she started her affairs with someone else. In early December 2013, Ward and her boyfriend, David Letts became parents. She gave birth to a baby girl, whom she named Naia. They are about to get married but the exact date is not conformed and she is excited to be spouse. She is not married yet, so there is no way to get divorced. 

Ward never thought of modeling in her life. Her modeling career was an accidental one. When she was fourteen, she was accompanying her friends to the Australian modeling competition Search for a Supermodel. But unfortunately she ended up being scouted herself. Since her childhood days, she was fascinated towards acting and drama. To be an actor was her dream. She has played alongside Toni Collette and Rhys Wakefield in Australian director Elissa Down's film The Black Balloon as the girlfriend of a boy whose brother has autism. It is reported that she can earn net worth of $10,000 and $20,000 for a catwalk show and up to $100,000 for ad campaigns.
