The 41 years old vocalist, regarded as one of the greatest is loved all over the world, and his death has left everyone numb. Sadness, disbelief, annoyed, painful, we felt everything, but now we can do nothing.

Chris Cornell once said,

"There's sadness to anyone that dies before their time, and specifically ones that seem to affect people in a positive way. It doesn't matter if it's Whitney Houston or a nameless, faceless person on the street. That's just as big of a tragedy for me."

And the death of these incredibly talented people brought us immeasurable tragedy.

Bennington's death is said to be an apparent suicide, but an investigation is going on; however, no additional details are available till now.

Talking about his childhood when he was molested when he was just seven years old, he said,

"If I think back to when I was really young, to when I was being molested, to when all these horrible things were going on around me, I shudder,”

Also, talking about his mental health battles he spoke to Rock Sound,

“I literally hated life and I was like, ‘I don’t want to have feelings. I want to be a sociopath. I don’t want to do anything. I don’t want to care what other people feel like. I want to feel nothing.'”

His songs portrayed his thoughts, he once said,

"When I'm writing, I'm constantly thinking about myself, because it's the only experience I have to draw on. And I don't see an exact reflection of myself in every face in the audience, but I know that my songs have validity to them, and that's why the fans are there."

People are playing Bennington's songs on repeat mode and are trying to seek out the possible meaning of the lyrics. Once motivating songs are now sounding so hurtful. Just like his song,

"I'm holding on. Why is everything so heavy? I'm holding on. To so much more than I can carry."

This is what we are feeling right now.

Death was crawling under his skin, one step closer and closer. Bleeding him out, fainting him, making him numb, why is everything so heavy? But in the end, it didn't even matter coz he is now on the way somewhere he belonged.

“The band was called Xero at the time, and we probably had less than a half a dozen songs. No flame tattoos yet, no red hair yet, most of us were still in college.”

Here are some quotes from Late. Chester Bennington (1976-2017)

You're constantly trying to prove yourself, even after you've made it.

I have been able to tap into all the negative things that can happen to me throughout my life by numbing myself to the pain so to speak and kind of being able to vent it through my music.

I don't like to hold back, because that's how you hurt yourself.

I don't drink. I choose to be sober now. I have drunk over the last six years, but I just don't want to be that person anymore.

It's not cool to be an alcoholic.
