Chris Robinson Biography
Chris Robinson is an American musician best known as the member of the band, The Black Crowes. He was born on December 20, 1966, in Marietta Georgia. He is American by nationality and belongs to white ethnicity. He was born to mother Nancy Jane and father Stan Robinson who had a minor Billboard charted record "Boom-A-Dip in 1959. Robinson attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He also has a brother named Rich Robinson.
Giving a kickstart to his professional singing career, Chris Robinson, along with his brother Rich, formed a band named Mr. Crowe Garden.The name of the band later changed to 'The Black Crowes'. The band signed a contract with Rick Rubin's label Def American and released their debut album Shake Your Money Maker.
Chris' second album with the band, “The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion” released on May 12, 1992. The album which included songs like “Remedy”, “Sting Me”, “Thorn In My Pride” and “Hotel Illness” were the top-charted hits of the year.
However, Chris' career took a different turn after the death of the band member, Jerry Garcia. The band took a break and during that time, Chris started pursuing his solo career as a singer. His first solo album New Earth Mud garnered positive reviews. A song from the album, The Red Road, appeared in a soundtrack to Goldie Hawn 2002 film, The Banger Sisters.
Later in 2004, he released his third album, This Magnificent Distance. The album proved to be the biggest success of his career.
After all this success, The Black Crowes, in 2005, announced that they were reuniting to perform at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom. The band, after the reunion, released a live album called “Brothers of a Feather: Live at the Roxy” in July 2007.
Chris is a married man and has been in three different marital relationships. He is currently married to Allison Bridges. The couple who got married in 2009 has a daughter named Cheyenne Genevieve.
Previously, he was married to Kate Hudson, his second wife. Together, they welcomed their son, Ryder Russell Robinson, on January 7, 2004. However, the couple could not sustain their relationship and divorced.
