Chante Torrance Moore, also known as Chante Torrance is a Grammy-nominated American singer, songwriter, actress, television personality, and author. She rose to fame in the late 90s establishing herself as a prominent R&B artist. Her signature song and her best charting song to date is believed to be "Chanté's Got a Man". She was featured in TV One's reality series "R&B Divas: Los Angeles" and acted in the show for three seasons.

Chante Torrance was born as Chante Torrance Moore on 17 February 1967 to Virginia Moore and Larry Moore. He was born and raised along with his two siblings; Kelvin Gomillion, and Sister LaTandre Moore in San Francisco, California, the U.S. Talking about her nationality, she is an American and is of Afro-American ethnicity.

Born to a Christian family, she grew up singing in the church and was heavily influenced by the music of George Duke and Lee Ritenour. Chante signed to Silas' MCA-distributed imprint Silas Records and released a song  "Candlelight and You" featuring R&B singer Keith Washington. She released her debut single album named "precious" collaborating with Silas records and  MCA Records.  The album was certified gold by the RIAA on November 14, 1994.

Moore released her second album, "A Love Supreme" which peaked number sixty-four on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The albums first single "Old School Lovin'" peaked at number nineteen on the R&B Charts. After few years, she released her album "This Moment Is Mine" which became her biggest single to date. She has also featured in the late 90s movies like The Fan, Romeo Must Die, Beverly Hills cop lll, and Drive. She has a good relationship with fellow singers, John Mayer, Bebe Rexha, and Nicki Minaj.

Talking about her personal life and affairs, she is a married woman. She was previously married to Kadeem Hardison, an actor, and director. The couple together has a daughter named Sophia Hardison, born in 1996. However, despite the love for each other in the initial phase of their life, the couple eventually divorced. After two years of her divorce, she married singer Kenny Lattimore on New Year's Day at a private ceremony in Jamaica. The couple together has a son named Kenny Jr, born on April 10, 2003. She announced that she and Kenny Lattimore had divorced in a statement on her Facebook account in 2011. She is currently single.
