Born as William Jefferson Blythe III, Bill Clinton is a politician and former President of the United States who was born on August 19, 1946, to the parents, William Jefferson Blythe Jr. and Virginia Clinton Kelley in Hope, Arkansas, United States. Bill Clinton became a law teacher at the University of Arkansas shortly after graduating from Yale Law School. He began his political career in 1974 when he ran for the House of Representatives, but lost the election after only receiving 48 percent of the vote. Two years later he became Arkansas Attorney General. Clinton ran and won the election to become the governor of Arkansas in 1978.
At the age of 32, he was the youngest governor in the United States. After an unpopular first term, he lost his reelection bid in 1980. Clinton successfully reclaimed his spot as governor of Arkansas in 1982, Bill decided to run for President of the United States in 1992. He easily defeated Jerry Brown in the Democratic Primary. George H.W. Bush was originally considered to be unbeatable, but his popularity started to drop before the election. This helped Clinton secure 370 electoral votes to become the President.
Bill easily defeated Bob Dole to win a second term as President in 1996. He became the second President to be impeached in 1998 after the scandal with Monica Lewinsky, but he was never removed from office. Despite the impeachment, Bill Clinton ended his political career as one of the most popular Presidents in the history of the United States.
